Socks on Saturday: Mosaic Marbles

Welcome to our new weekly feature, Socks on Saturday! Since Ewe Ewe Yarns now has Fluffy Fingering in the merino yarn lineup we can make all the wonderful socks you can imagine. Yay!

Each Socks on Saturday will highlight a sock pattern that you can use to knit yourself a pair of socks with Fluffy Fingering yarn. Today is a funky criss-cross color work design called Mosaic Marbles.

These socks are so cool. I love the stitch pattern that and they way it goes in so many different directions! The Mosaic Marbles would knit up perfectly in Ewe Ewe Fluffy Fingering yarn.

This pattern uses a technique called mosaic knitting which means each round is worked with only one color and the changes colors happens by slipping stitches. This intricate design is very easy to knit!

There are tons of Mosaic Marbles examples on Ravelry

Try Fluffy Fingering yarn in colors Citrus Pop and Berry to make a really WOW pair!

Make a more everyday pair in Aquamarine and Vanilla Fluffy Fingering.

Go for a high contrast pair with Charcoal and Citrus Pop Fluffy Fingering yarn.

Make a lovely subtle pair with Forest Fern and Brushed Silver. So pretty!

How much yarn do I need?

From the designer’s Ravelry page:

To knit 2 identical socks with matching colors:
Main Color: 215(240, 260, 285) yards / 2(2, 2, 2) skeins of Fluffy Fingering yarn
Contrasting Color: 125(130, 140, 150) yards / 1(1, 1, 1) skein of Fluffy Fingering yarn

To knit a reversed color pair:
170(185, 200, 220) yards / 1(1, 1, 2) skeins of each of MC and CC of Fluffy Fingering yarn

Yarn requirements given for leg six inches / 15 cm long. Solid yarns in contrasting colors show the pattern best.
