Summer is coming and these cute lace socks are just want you need! How fun to admire your handiwork while you enjoy a sunny afternoon view.

Grillies are a free ankle sock pattern designed by Tabitha Jarvis. They’re meant to be light and breathable for those warmer months. Take a look at the easy-to-knit lace!

I love the designer’s inspiration for these socks:

Grillies are a summery, breathable ankle sock with a more rounded toe. The name comes from the first pair I knit; they reminded me of grilled meat on a barbecue because of their color and the lace pattern.

Perfect! Grab your two colors of Fluffy Fingering sock yarn and get knitting for that BBQ!

I’m thinking that a Berry heel and toe would look super cute with Saffron grills. Or what about the original look with Red Velvet and Vanilla? Charcoal and Aquamarine? All good ideas!

No, seriously, these socks really ARE bananas! Aren’t they the cutest things you’ve ever seen?

If you’re here it’s probably because you like quirky knits as much as I do – I have a whole pattern category dedicated to them! But when I came across These Socks Are Bananas on Ravelry their cuteness stopped me in my tracks. Bananas! Come on!

I think you could do a few adorable color combos in Ewe Ewe Fluffy Fingering yarn. Above is similar to the original design and uses Vanilla for the background, Citrus Pop for the banana, Saffron for the stems and Brushed Silver for the heel, toe and cuff.

Or maybe you want to go totally crazy cute and knit colorful pair of wild banana socks. Yes, you do!

What if you did a Berry background, Citrus Pop bananas, Forest Fern stems and Iris Blossom accents?

A richer color traditional sock is possibly your banana of choice. Try a Vanilla background with Saffron bananas, Forest Fern stems and Charcoal accents. Tasty!

I’ve had cables on the brain this week so this beautiful pair of socks leapt right off the page at me! Galiano Socks are designed with a gorgeous stag-horn cable down the middle of the sock to really make them memorable.

Tracie Millar designed these socks while on vacation because while their a cable pattern she says there are “a lot of cruise rows” in between the cables so you can really kick back and enjoy just knitting. While the pattern may look complicated but there’s a lot of just knits and purls on each pattern repeat.

I love nearly everything tincanknits produces. Their patterns are fabulous, their photos are gorgeous, and their tutorials are so helpful and well written.

So I was happy to see that they’ve adapted one of their most popular worsted weight sock patterns, Rye, into Rye Light! Rye Light uses fingering weight yarn, is sized for the whole family and would look great in any color of Ewe Ewe Fluffy Fingering merino yarn. Win!

I have been holding my breath and waiting to show you these socks! Ewe Heart Socks was the first pattern I thought of when I dreamed up my new Fluffy Fingering merino yarn.

I called my friend Meaghan at The Unapologetic Knitter and said, “Will you design me socks with HEARTS all over them?” 💗 She did!

We made these socks in Fluffy Fingering and I love how the twist of this yarn really pops the stitch definition on the heart design.

You can choose any color to knit your hearts. We made our set in Berry but Red Velvet, Aquamarine or Iris Blossom would all look fabulous, too!

I love to browse through Ravelry to come up with knitting patterns that people can use Ewe Ewe yarns to make and these Red Robin Socks just kept drawing my eye. They look so cozy!

Red Robin Socks knitting pattern designed by Helen Stewart

Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade designed the Red Robin Socks to be reminiscent of the friendly red robin poking around in a springtime garden. The stitch pattern looks lush and the colors tell the story.

I think the combination of Fluffy Fingering in Wheat with Red Velvet accents would look perfect but these socks would also look great in any color combo! I found a few alternative colors that we could try.

WillowGroveKnits made a beautiful pair in a gray and rich red combo

I thought this gray pair by WillowGroveKnits on Ravelry looked great. We could do Red Velvet for the top with Brushed Silver on the ankle and foot.

What if we go for the robin’s egg instead? I love traceyrr’s brighter pair and we could use Aquamarine and Saffron Fluffy Fingering yarn to get this kind of look.

Or take a cue from the original and grab that Red Velvet and Wheat!
