Annie's Yarn Shop + A Giveaway!

Annie's Craft Store is excited to show off their new yarn shop! Annie's has been a great partner with Ewe Ewe Yarns for years, and there haven't been that many years of Ewe Ewe! They feature our Wooly Worsted yarn and knitting patterns in both their store and glossy magazine, Creative Knitting

The new Annie's Yarn Shop looks refreshed, is easier to navigate and has a lot of neat shopper benefits. You can sign up for Annie's Yarn Trend Report to see what's new and fresh at their website. Maybe try watching a few knitting stitch guide videos to help you with a new knitting technique. They're both very informative!

I like the new Build-A-Kit feature that helps you find patterns and yarn all in one easy step. The Easy As ABC baby sweater is so quick! Choose your size, pick the yarn color combination and, POOF! Pattern and yarn right to your door!

Did I mention all the yarn is 20% off, too! Yes! Use promo code: NEWYARN to receive 20% off all yarn through January 23. Woohoo!

The Giveaway!

In celebration for this big yarn store update, Annie's wants to give one lucky Ewe Ewe Yarns fan a full year's subscription to Creative Knitting Magazine! (I know there's some great Ewe Ewe knitting patterns and an article written by me all coming up this year inside that magazine!)

Creative Knitting Giveaway

How to enter: Head to Annie's Yarn Shop, take a look around and choose your favorite color of Wooly Worsted yarn. Leave your answer in the comments below this blog post along with your email address. I'll choose a winner on Friday, January 23 at 12 pm PST.

Go! You could win and get a prize in your mailbox each month for the whole year. Fun!

Closed: The winner is Marsha!
Congratulations to the winner and thank you to everyone for participating.

Book Review: Brioche Chic + A Giveaway!

Today I'm excited to show you a new book by our friend Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark. Mercedes has been a happy influence and supporter of Ewe Ewe since she and I first met and her new book Brioche Chic includes some Wooly Worsted yarn!

Brioche Chic is a beautiful collection of brioche stitch knitting patterns and instructions. Brioche knitting is an interesting technique that is a bit different than a regular knitted or purled stitch. It creates an incredibly bouncy fabric and really shows off the stitch definition.

Basic Brioche Scarf
Basic Brioche Cowl

Inside, the tutorial instructions and illustrations do a great job of teaching this alternative knitting technique. There are easy get-you-started projects like the Basic Brioche Scarf and Basic Brioche Cowl. Both are so cute!

Men's Cabled Crewneck
Smocked Blouse

Once you get the hang of brioche knitting you can move right in to some pretty amazing garments. Add regular knitting techniques like cables or make yourself an adorable Smocked Blouse. Want dat!

Reversible Infinity Scarf

From gorgeous garments and shaping you can move on to brioche colorwork. Look at this amazing Reversible Infinity Cowl! It is knitted with Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted yarn in Aquamarine and Charcoal. The two colors really show the depth and beauty of the brioche stitches. Plus, this cowl doesn't have a right side or a wrong side, it really is reversible!

Our soft, bouncy merino yarn is only made better by the creative brioche stitches Mercedes designed. This cowl is squishy and super soft and you'll want to wear it all winter long.

And!! I've decided to give two lucky winners the yarn to make the Reversible Infinity Cowl and their own copy of Brioche Chic!

One + One: Wraps, Cowls & Capelets: A Giveaway!

I was lucky enough to be a contributing designer in the newest book by Iris Schreier. The new book is One + One: Wraps, Cowls & Capelets: 29 Projects From Just Two Skeins and it's beautiful!

Spiral Cowl pattern by Heather Walpole

This is my design, the Spiral Cowl. It features one skein of Artyarns Beaded Pearl and one skein of Artyarns Cashmere 3. See, that's the whole point, one skein of gorgeous yarn plus one skein of a second to-die-for yarn equals a design. And all of these designs add up to an incredible collection of in this great book.

Here are some of my favorite designs in the book.
