Hello and good morning! It’s me, Heather, owner of Ewe Ewe Yarns.
Welcome to a new feature on the Ewe Ewe blog about living a creative life and a few things I’ve found that have inspired me lately. I love to knit and crochet but I also enjoy gardening, cooking, photography and a craft cocktail or two. Some of the things you’ll find in these new posts could range from where I’m knitting, what I’m cooking, and maybe some color inspiration.
What I’m writing: A fresh About Us page
I just updated the Ewe Ewe about us page with some fun facts about how we got here. Hint: Ewe Ewe is still a woman-owned business run by me with a bit of help from my husband. This small business supports our family and we thank you for being here.
From around the web: How to Pack for a Fiber Fest
I love this roundup of essentials for spending the day at a fiber festival. PostStitch thinks of everything from the right bag to a portable knitting project and snacks that keep you going and going. She even created a printable Fiber Festival Shopping Guide!
Follow these packing tips to hit the ground running when you’re heading into a giant room full of yarn!
What I’m cooking: Basic, Bang Up Blue Cheese Dressing
With all the fresh veggies sprouting up that means we’re heading in to salad season. I like to make a batch of this easy blue cheese salad dressing and just pop it in a mason jar in the fridge. It’s great over any salad or as a quick dip with carrots for a quick snack. I’ve even drizzled it over baked salmon as a delightful sauce. Yum!
Knitting inspiration: Ravelry favorites
Ravelry is a massive, magical place for knitting patterns but it can be overwhelming. When I find projects that inspire me and will work for one of the Ewe Ewe yarns I add them to a favorites bundle on my eweeweyarns Ravelry page. This is the one that focuses on the Ewe Ewe sport-weight yarn called Ewe So Sporty.
Find projects like shawls, sweaters, baby items, accessories and more that will work with our yarn!
Where I’m knitting: On the sofa!
Last week it was bright and sunny outside but this week we’ve had some big spring weather happening. I’ve been tucked up on the couch finishing a new sweater design in Ewe Ewe Fluffy Fingering merino yarn. I just have to get those last few ends tucked in and then I’ll show you!
I hope you have had a creative week. Leave me a comment to let me know what you’ve been up to!
