Ewe Ewe Yarns Top Best-Sellers List!

That's right! Ewe So Sporty and Wooly Worsted yarns by Ewe Ewe have topped the best-selling yarns list at NobleKnits.com. First place went to Wooly Worsted and second place Ewe So Sporty, both great, washable merino yarns. I know I'm always talking about how nice the yarn is and how bouncy it is to knit but it really is true!

From their post it sounds like all of the favorite yarns are great. "The results are in and it’s time to look at the most popular yarns for 2015. Knitters went for tried and true quality fibers that were soft, colorful and easy care, too!"

Take a look at their entire list and also read some of the 5-star product reviews on their website!

Book Review: Brioche Chic + A Giveaway!

Today I'm excited to show you a new book by our friend Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark. Mercedes has been a happy influence and supporter of Ewe Ewe since she and I first met and her new book Brioche Chic includes some Wooly Worsted yarn!

Brioche Chic is a beautiful collection of brioche stitch knitting patterns and instructions. Brioche knitting is an interesting technique that is a bit different than a regular knitted or purled stitch. It creates an incredibly bouncy fabric and really shows off the stitch definition.

Basic Brioche Scarf
Basic Brioche Cowl

Inside, the tutorial instructions and illustrations do a great job of teaching this alternative knitting technique. There are easy get-you-started projects like the Basic Brioche Scarf and Basic Brioche Cowl. Both are so cute!

Men's Cabled Crewneck
Smocked Blouse

Once you get the hang of brioche knitting you can move right in to some pretty amazing garments. Add regular knitting techniques like cables or make yourself an adorable Smocked Blouse. Want dat!

Reversible Infinity Scarf

From gorgeous garments and shaping you can move on to brioche colorwork. Look at this amazing Reversible Infinity Cowl! It is knitted with Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted yarn in Aquamarine and Charcoal. The two colors really show the depth and beauty of the brioche stitches. Plus, this cowl doesn't have a right side or a wrong side, it really is reversible!

Our soft, bouncy merino yarn is only made better by the creative brioche stitches Mercedes designed. This cowl is squishy and super soft and you'll want to wear it all winter long.

And!! I've decided to give two lucky winners the yarn to make the Reversible Infinity Cowl and their own copy of Brioche Chic!

Book Review: She Makes Hats

My friend Robyn Devine has written a light and inspiring book about her journey as a knitter. Robyn began knitting about 15 years ago and never looked back. She didn't start small because it seems like small is not something she knows. Her second project was a huge blanket with hundreds of stitches. Then more blankets and a few attempts at sweaters.

With a decade of knitting under her belt and a new life settled in Omaha, Robyn was itching for a challenge. She set herself the goal of knitting 100 hats in a year which is pretty lofty. Two hats per week is a lot of knitting and takes a solid dose of perseverance.

She did it.

And she didn't stop there! Robyn turns to her knitting, the simple knits and purls, whenever she gets the chance. Her hats have grown into a lifelong project of charity donations. She's turning yarn into hats and in turn creating tangible love. Follow along on her journey through life, having children and finding new experiences through happy accidents in She Makes Hats

Visit shemakeshats.com to follow more of Robyn's adventures.

All the uplifting stories in her book inspired me to join her in her hat-making goals and that's why we partnered for our first Charity Hat-Along. Read more about how you can donate hats to charity.

Our first yarn review!

Shopping on the internet can be a challenge but our wonderful friends over at NobleKnits.com do a great job of explaining how yarns feel and knit. They just posted a video review of Wooly Worsted Washable yarn on their blog and they love it! Nancy talks about different project ideas and the quality of Ewe Ewe Yarns so you can find out just how it feels from the comfort of your home. Here's a quick quote from their video, "Another thing I like about Wooly Worsted is it's a soft, bouncy yarn. It feels great when it's knitted up. It has a lot of stretch and it doesn't get caught in your needles. I hate when my yarn gets caught in the needles and the yarn splits. This yarn doesn't to that."

We agree! It's a luxurious merino wool at a great price. Thanks, NobleKnits.com! We're so happy that Wooly has found a good home with you. And, NobleKnits.com has free shipping every day! Grab some Wooly right now!

Happy knitting! xo, Heather
